Things get lost in a deep bowl, and they slide right off a plate -- I love keeping these around for fruit, veggies for the week, or nuts/candy/snacks. The boys have them in their rooms for their wallets, watches, and coins. At two inches in depth, I find this is the form factor we actually need around the house. They are striking, and food safe. Larger sizes are great for charcuterie.
Pictures don't do ambrosia maple justice. There is iridescence in the grain that changes color as light is reflected at different angles. It is stunning, if I do say so. Of course, it is all about the raw material we're working with -- we do what we can to bring out the beauty that nature generously provides.
